Next Year’s Freshmen

Grade 8 Tours

On the sixteenth and seventeenth of March, Carlton was visited by many potential students. Most of these students were from grade eight at schools located in or around Prince Albert. These students had the opportunity to take a tour of this “big”, as many of them described it, school. Each group had half a day to meet teachers, visit the many practical & applied arts, fine arts, and science classes as well as see Carlton students in action in their everyday surroundings.

We had the opportunity to talk to 10 students from Vickers, Wild Rose and Westview. Most were very hesitant to get interviewed while others were very willing.

Yeah, because I know a lot of people that go here and my sisters go here too.

I think of my mom… she’s an art teacher and I think of like a big school.

Yeah, because I can make new friends.

Umm seeing all new people

I might. I might go to Saint Mary’s. I know quite a few people that go there.

It’s huge.

Do you think you’ll come to Carlton Why or why not?
Yeah, definitely… I’ve been at a small school my whole life and It’s really nice you get to know a whole ton of people really well… but at Carlton there will be a whole “shebang” of people. It’ll be really interesting.

What’s your favorite part of the tour?
Shop classes. I would like to definitely follow that.

OH MY GOODNESS… Ill probably take band.

For sure. There are lots of opportunities and I am interested in carpentry and welding.

We got free brownies.

Um it’s very large and i am impressed.

I will 100 percent. There is just so much opportunity for me here.

Just looking at the school and meeting the teachers
